I took this photo a few years back while roaming the woods in what is called the Sand Hills, in Washington co.  (florida) The property I was on was owned by Fitzhugh and Essie Carter and had several ponds on it.  The water was very low in all the ponds and as you can see had exposed some old boats that had sunk long ago that Fitzhugh use to rent out for one dollar a day.  Boy, those were the day's.  Below is a photo of the tags that were still affixed inside the boat.  There is one more from 1949 that you could barley read.  This photo also won me a trip to the Bass Pro Shops Legends Tournament that was held at Bay Lake in Disney World.  That's another story.  Anyway thought you might like to see this.  I think it's pretty neat to see things from the past. Fitzhugh and Essie have both passed on and have left this approx 4,000 acres to the N.W. Fl Water Management for all to enjoy.
